Well, the abandoned and unwanted 'Six Flags New Orleans' property has been getting a heavy workout lately.

The site is at least getting some use as a movie and television set, the latest addition to the parks post-life use? None other then "Jurassic World" the newest edition in the "Jurassic Park" movie series. Filming has wrapped out and info is slowly leaking out, they used to production name of "Ebb Tide". 

Having seen the movies and read the books.. I'm going to have to guess that they finally got that whole "Amusement Park Rides" portion online and things have gone wrong!

Abandoned Amusement Park For Sale- You really CAN buy ANYTHING on eBay!

 Even more proof you really can purchase anything on eBay, or sell anything for that matter.

 Popping up on eBay this week we found the abandoned "Spree Park" in Berlin, Germany. The park has been abandoned since 2002 and while not much is left today, there is still some remains left littering the property. The roller coaster "Spreeblitz", a ferris wheel and dozens of huge dinosaurs models are left on the property.

 The park was closed in 2002 because the owner was using the rides and ride parts to smuggle cocaine in and out of Germany. Over a decade later, the park has been put up for sale to the highest bidder. The Price? A cool $1.65 million Euros or about $2.2 million US.

 The property does have to be used as amusement or recreation space until 2061, which many hinder the possible buyers of the land. However, it's a still an interesting piece of history for sale. The park opened in 1969 while the Berlin Wall was still standing (the east side of the wall).

Fixing Attractions- Epcot's Imagination Pavilion: Image Works

Time for another in our running series of "Fixing Attractions". This is when there is an attraction, be it a favorite character or a beloved childhood memory that's fallen in the wayside. Passed up for bigger and better things when it's really just the simple charm we all want back. These are solely my ideas, created within my own head and have nothing to do with the theme parks other then how I would fix them if someone let me in charge. I retain all rights to these ideas although your welcome to comment and repost them if you wish!  More ideas make attractions better, after all! 

EPCOT's Imagination! Pavilion

This post was originally going to be in two parts. Once focusing on the ride and one on the upstairs area. However I came to the realization that Imagination can't be fixed anymore, it can only be restored to it's original operating condition. Nothing myself or anyone else can come up with will ever hold a candle to the original attraction. So I give you my rant on the Imagination Pavilion's history (for anyone who doesn't already know it) and my own idea on how to fix the Imageworks!

(Sorry for missing Fridays "Daily Distraction" but it seemed by body had different plans!)

Today's Daily Distraction is "Hanna-Barbara Land" which was proposed for DisneyLand long before Universal Studios ever had the rights to the Cartoons an Characters. As a happy Two-Part, this blog "Imagineering Disney" is also another personal favorite of mine! I recommend their "THEN AND NOW" series as well as the "ABANDONED DISNEY" series also! Hopefully with some luck, I can eventually turn Insanity Lurks Inside into that kind of blog only with more focus on parks other then Disney!
However I decided to post up some Disney related links first, growing up in Florida has tainted me ;)
I promise, there will be other things too! Never fear!
