Info Post: Halloween Horror Nights 23 at Universal Studios Orlando
Halloween Horror Nights is easily one of the most popular and largest Haunted Events to take place at a theme park. In the past HHN has been known for being crazy with their theme's, pushing the boundary of what's acceptable and going one step beyond that line. While this season Halloween Horror Nights doesn't exactly have a set theme or icon, they've gone just as crazy as they have in the past. It seems this season has gone with a television/movie theme with most of the haunted houses and scare-zones.
To begin, let's take a look at the map for HHN23. The set up is very similar to years past with a line of haunted houses along the main drag of the park, the rest are located around the lagoon loop. Although this year we see less of the parks 'normal' attractions open then in previous seasons.
This season the only attractions open are the roller coaster Rip, Ride and Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, Men in Black, Simpsons the Ride, Kang and Kodos Twirl and Hurl, Despicable Me and Transformers.
Now, Onto the Haunted Houses!

Halloween Horror Nights Orlando: Penn & Teller
Penn and Teller have a house at Halloween Horror Nights!
While some of us have heard this rumor for a while now, it's been confirmed as real and does it sound amazing! Penn and Teller are creating their very own brand of crazy insanity, in the form of a magic trick gone wrong. Bringing Las Vegas to Orlando, the duo of magic and BULLSHIT! fame have got something special for those of us who thrive on the sound of screams.
Reading threw the article, this promises to be one of the better houses in HHN history. Penn and Teller are well known for their crazy approach to magic and their amazing showmanship, I can't imagine that anything they dreamed up together to not meet the demands of Halloween Fans who flocked to Universal. This house, sounds from what little has been leaked, like it's going to be one HELL of a show!
Apparently the premise of this house is a 'New Trick' from Penn and Teller involving a Nuclear Warhead goes wrong and all of 'Las Vegas' goes for a crazed trip. Not much else is really known except it will involve 3D elements, A Vegas Theme (Slot Machines, Show Girls, All-You-Can-Eat Buffets and naturally Radioactivity.
Frankly, I think this one has a TON of promise. More so then the much talked about "Walking Dead" house which has been receiving most of the press right now. Now, don't get me wrong I enjoy the show but let's face it.. it's Zombies. EVERY haunted house has Zombies, while it's based off a show the 'Zombies' from Walking Dead don't really have a gimmick. They aren't especially fast nor smart, while the setting is fun as is the show.. it's nothing new. Frankly, the zombies from "I Am Legend" would be more inclined to inspire even my well jaded and Halloween seasoned ass to move a little more quickly!
Anyway,
Still not much is known in regards to the rest of the Haunted Houses for Halloween Horror Nights 22, only 4 of the houses have been 'announced' or 'leaked' to the public. To read more about the Penn and Teller 'Las Vegas' house as well as the Walking Dead house, please follow the link below!
