Freestyle Music Park- Rides Sold and Removal

Rides Sold and Removed from Defunct 'Freestlye Music Park'.

While rides have been being removed slowly over the recent months from the defunct 'Freestlye Music Park' (which was the failed 'Hard Rock Park') we're still unsure as to the location of the buyer.

Speculation exists that an unknown amusement park in Vietnam has purchsed most of the flat rides as well as the roller coasters. As of the last week, the roller coaster "The Eagles- Life in the Fast Lane" has been partly removed. Cranes litter the park, track pieces and ride cars are stacked up the parking lot area awaiting shipping.

Ital International who is handling the sale and removal of the rides also stated the rides are moving to Vietnam. The listing for the rides on Ital's website have also disappeared within recent days.

A sad ending for a park that never really got a chance to live.

Holiday World- Removing Pilgrims Pludge

Holiday World- Removing "Pilgrims Plunge".

Today Holiday World announced they will be removing their rather crazy water ride, Pilgrims Plunge (Giraffica).

This unique and complicated water ride was created by Intamin in 2009 and was once featured on the Travel Channel.

The ride has been plagued with issues and problems since it's opening. The park said the following about the rides removal “If you’re one of our super-fans, you’re probably not surprised. You’ve noticed the ride has not been open as often as we all would have liked. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment.”.

Knott's Berry Farm- Windseeker Removal

Image from Randomman295 on TPR
Well, it's a pretty well known fact that Knott's Berry Farm is removing their Windseeker attraction from the park.  We've talked about this topic before on a previous post if you need to catch up real quick check out:  Cedar Fair Moves a Windseeker- The Media goes Stupid.

It seems that parts of the Knott's Windseeker are finally coming down. The rider carriage is off and the top sections are slowly being removed from the tower.

This ride is being shipped out to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri and being re-named in the process. This ride will no longer carry the well known 'Windseeker' name and will now be known as "SteelHawk".

Saying Goodbye to a Friend- Rolling Thunder Demolition

Image from Theme Park Review's Twitter Page
Sad News- It looks like we've go no choice but to say goodbye to a friend.

The image to the left is from Six Flags Great Adventure, the beloved roller coaster "Rolling Thunder' now seems to be pile of wooden rubble waiting to be removed. Nicknamed "Rotting Lumber" by fans, the park neglected this coaster for years in hopes of finally making it disappear.  It seems as of last week, this is a reality.

Lumber litters the ground to make way for 'progress'. That progress is called 'Zumanjaro'.. the new drop tower getting attached to the back side of Kingda Ka. Which raises the question- Do we really need ANOTHER drop tower ride?

Many of us reached out to Six Flags asking them not to remove this attraction- trust me, they've got the land to build fresh but it seems our pleading once again fell upon deaf ears.

Some days I really, really hate "progress".

  Goodbye my old friend.
