Freestyle Music Park- Rides Sold and Removal

Rides Sold and Removed from Defunct 'Freestlye Music Park'.

While rides have been being removed slowly over the recent months from the defunct 'Freestlye Music Park' (which was the failed 'Hard Rock Park') we're still unsure as to the location of the buyer.

Speculation exists that an unknown amusement park in Vietnam has purchsed most of the flat rides as well as the roller coasters. As of the last week, the roller coaster "The Eagles- Life in the Fast Lane" has been partly removed. Cranes litter the park, track pieces and ride cars are stacked up the parking lot area awaiting shipping.

Ital International who is handling the sale and removal of the rides also stated the rides are moving to Vietnam. The listing for the rides on Ital's website have also disappeared within recent days.

A sad ending for a park that never really got a chance to live.

Rumor Alert: Freestyle Music Park- Coaster Buyer Found?

Rumor Alert: Freestyle Music Park- Coaster Buyer Found? Perhaps!

Some interesting news from Screamscape and Freestyle Music Park today.

Seems a Mosley Erecting truck was spotted at the park, in the general area of the Led Zeppelin roller coaster. This means perhaps a buyer for one of the parks SBNO (Standing but Not Operating) coasters has been found! All the rides in the park have been 'for sale' for nearly a year now, including the big roller coasters but to this date we've only seen small rides (flat rides) be removed.

We've also had plenty of rumors! Ones ranging from the roller coasters had all been sold to China and other stating that other amusement parks had interest in buying up the coasters.

This newest siting/rumor is slightly different though. Mostly because Mosley does a LOT of big construction with southern roller coasters and amusement parks, they've also done a lot of installation work for parks like Dollywood, Kings Dominion and Carowinds. It could mean one or several of the rides have been sold finally and will be removed.. however, until something happens I'm going to keep this classed as a rumor.

Will pass along anymore information or rumors when such become available!

Freestyle Music Park- Stripping the Corpse

Stripping the Corpse of Freestyle Music Park

Freestyle Music Park, with it's rides all up for sale is seeing more activity now then it has since it's doors last opened in 2009.

This image was posted over on Screamscape and shows a crane now in the park. They believe this is removing the WaveSwinger ride.

Since the rides have gone up for public sale, rumors have been flying left and right. Some are saying that many of the rides have been sold to an undisclosed Asian park while others say that 'Time Machine', the B&M Looping coaster has been sold to an unknown park in China.  Nothing has been confirmed.

However, as of right now all the rides are still listed as "For Sale" on ITAL (www.italintl.com).

Freestyle Music Park has Rides to Sell

The ill-fated "Hard Rock Park" and later called "Freestyle Music Park" will never be resurrected.

Sitting on 55 prime acres in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina the park has been sitting idle since 2009 after only operating for two seasons.

As reported earlier this year, something fishy was going on at the park. They have been spotted testing rides, many speculated that this was a sign the park would reopen or a new buyer had been found.

However, most of us realized this wasn't a good sign. Abandoned Theme Park with half a dozen failed sales in it's history but sitting on a valuable piece of property suddenly tests rides?  Their getting ready to gut and sell.

Something may be Fishy at Freestyle Music Park

Over the last month several sitings of activity at the now defunct "Hard Rock Park" located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Beginning in August, Screamscape reports that folks have been seeing a lot of activity around the "Time Machine" (or once known as Led Zeppelin-The Ride). This week, more activity has been spotted as they report that 'Time Machine' was seen loaded onto the track and perhaps even testing. Earlier in August one person reported that the ride had been loaded with water-dummies and looked to possibly be testing.

Time Machine/Led Zeppelin-The Ride
 What does this mean?

Honestly, I don't have a stinkin' clue. The ride could be in the process if being sold to someone and their are testing before moving the ride out? Perhaps someone is going to us the ride for movie or television? Could the park be going through testing before a sale? This wouldn't be entirely unusual as the park as been in 'proposed' sale in the past.

Hard Rock Park has had a troubled history since it's inception, not even surviving a year before it was shuttered. Later it reopened for another season in 2009 under the name of "Freestyle Music Park" and closed again before 2010. Most blame the downturn in the economy which happened in 2008, causing the park to open during the worst possible time. Others believe it's because the park is in a very seasonal resort area, not allowing it to make the proposed numbers quota.

Since it's closing in 2009, parcels of the park's undeveloped property have been sold off. I wouldn't be overly surprised if the current holding company, FPI US LLC was attempting to sell off the rides and attractions in order to unload the 55 acres of land they sit on today.
