Final Banshee Update: 4/8

Hello peoples!!!

I am here to present all you coaster crazies with our final update on Banshee.  Next week the ISI team will be in King's Island for Media Day!!! (I am like 90% sure that KI will not post anything new in a week but I will keep an eye just in case).

So read on my friends because I've found some neatness for everyone to enjoy:

First up:
Photo: Looks like our famous Blue ice cream is going to have some serious competition from the new Banshee Twist flavored ice cream for the title of Most Popular Treat in the park this year.
King's Island is going to be offering Banshee twisted ice cream to go along with their Blue ice cream.  Seriously how could you not want to eat that?!

Second:
Photo: More than $50,000 has been raised by participants from 16 different states and sponsor donations for the "Scream for A Kid Again" event April 17 at Kings Island to be among the first night riders on the new record-breaking Banshee roller coaster. Don't miss your chance to participate in this fun-filled, memorable and rewarding event. Details: www.visitkingsisland.com/screamforakidagain
The charity event has raised more than $65,000 from 16 different states and all those wonderful people who donated.  Those lucky people get the first night rides on April 17th.  It is so great to see people donate to an organization that helps children with life-threatening illnesses.  If you have some reading time to spare please check out their website: A Kid Again.

Third:
Photo: In this photo, a train plummets down the 150-foot curved first drop of the new record-breaking Banshee roller coaster during a test run. The world's longest inverted steel roller coaster at 4,124 feet makes its highly-anticipated public debut April 18 when Kings Island opens for the 2014 season.
Have a random picture of the train dropping down the first hill because why not?

Fourth:
Photo: Preparations for Banshee Media Day are in full swing. The world's longest inverted roller coaster makes its public debut when Kings Island opens for the 2014 season Friday, April 18.
Here is an employee getting media badges ready for next week!!! Some of those belong to us!!  Yinz have no idea how excited we are; I got the news while at work and, I kid you not, there was jumping and a happy dance involved.

Fifth:

This was posted by KI stating that they are putting on the finishing touches.  Now, I'm not sure what exactly they're referring to but I'm going to guess that it probably means the tombstones that are standing under the coaster.

Sixth:
Photo: The wait is almost over! Two weeks from today we will unveil one of the most highly-anticipated new rides in the world this year, "Banshee." Join us on Opening Day Friday, April 18 and be among the first to scream your way through seven stomach-churning inversions at speeds up to 68 mph on the world's longest inverted roller coaster.

Here's a closer picture of the train on the first hill.

(If you haven't figured it out by now I'm trying to give yinz info and then random awesome pictures to give your brains a break; I hope it's helping!)

Seventh:

This is SO SO SO cool!!! Here is the ride entrance sign and I am can't help but wonder what it looks like at night; does it glow? Are there sound effects? I need answers!!

Eighth:
Photo: The first 5,000 guests to experience our new record-breaking roller coaster, "Banshee," on Opening Day Friday, April 18 will receive a free first rider t-shirt! The turnstiles open at 11:30 a.m. on Opening Day with rides and attractions opening at noon. Banshee will be open beginning at 11:30 a.m. for Gold and Platinum season passholders.
These are the T-Shirts that will be available for the first 5,000 guests on opening day, April 18th.  Banshee will open at 11:30AM for Gold and Platinum season pass holders and then to the rest of the park at Noon.

Have I broken any of you?  Are you still alive after that information drop?  I truly hope so because in 9 days ISI will be riding the Banshee and will be giving yinz as much as we can while we ride so make sure you are following all of us.  (You can find where to follow under the "Where to Follow" tab).

So as always: any comments made are to be polite and without malice.  If you're nice to us then we'll be nice to you.
You can find us on Google+, Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook.
