Breaking News-The Land of Midendhil Coming to Orlando

The Land of Midenhil
Coming to Orlando

Okay, Seriously. What the HELL is this?!
It came out of left field. No one knew about this and no one still does.

The Orlando Sentential doesn't even know anything about this project which apparently revolves around a book series. A series which was released.. get this.. LESS THEN A WEEK AGO. Also, it's not even available in English yet- Only Italian. I've looked as the first thing I wanted to do was get my hands on the book and find out what this is all about.

Honestly, I have no idea if this project will even happen considering no one can guess if a book series will do well or even catch the public interest. What does shock me is that they've already jumped the gun and launched a "entertainment complex" project idea. I say 'Idea" because there is a complete lack of information about it.  No one even knows where this project will take place other then "Orlando" and "Italy" but apparently the desginers have a fairly nice resume. Having worked with various theme parks such as Disneyland Paris and Gardaland.

However, No one is talking about this or reporting on it. I haven't even heard rumors about this thing but here it is, popping up on one of my normal news sources- The awesome folks at Orlando Theme Park News.  They report the project will apparently include: An Special Arcade, A Theme Shop, Special Restaurant and Musical Theater. No other attractions or rides are listed at this time.

The website for this project reports the following:
MIDENDHIL EXPERIENCE
The saga of Midendhil will be soon an incredible entertainment center located in Orlando, Florida.
In Midendhil Experience there will be a special arcade with innovative and spectacular videogame to live starring the wonderful world of Midendhil, a theme shop where you can buy all the magic described in the novels and a great restaurant to taste the dishes and recipes described in the saga.
But above all, in the gigantic theater,  you can watch the magnificent Musical of Midendhil, an incredible show, produced by the best theatrical producer and the greatest professionals of the theme parks and the film industry in the world. Packed with special effects ever seen, give all the spectators an unforgettable experience.
Midendhil: a new world for a new experience of fun.

Information is sketchy at best about this project. It has no projected time frame nor any location listed. There is nothing to know other then this seems to be someone's pet project.  Either way, we'll be closely watching this to see what happens. I do have to admit, it's looks pretty at least!

Canada's Wonderland- New Waterslide Arrives?

Image from the great people of CWMania
Today over on CWMania I spotted this. Now, it's not hard to deduct that this is.. A Waterslide!

The interesting part of this is- Canada's Wonderland wasn't slated for a new waterslide this year. Not a peep about even improving their Splash Works water park. When someone reported spotting these, it caught my interest!

So I went digging to find out what this was all about. Also by browsing around on CWMania (seriously, those folks know!) and discovered many people believe this is the 'Slide that Never Opened' at the failed Soak City in Ontario, Canada. Another rumor I've heard for a few months now says that Splash Works may be in for a 2015 overhaul and this used slide could be part of that.

It's really rather a smart idea on the part of Canada's Wonderland. These things cost upwards of $100,000 each to build. With many Water Parks disappearing and other just removing slides they can't either maintain or want removed for something new- this is a great way to add to you park without busting your budget.  Remember- Something.. Anything new will get people through the door!

This is an image of what may suspect this mystery slide might be. The 'Built but Never Opened' also called 'Tospy Turvy'.  The downside is no one can seem to 'find' the red, orange and yellow sections of the slide. Perhaps they are being stored inside or elsewhere.

Frankly, I can't tell you. Either way, it still appears the Canada's Wonderland will receive from for of new waterslide in the near future!

Universal Studios Orlando- Possible Diagon Alley Animation

Please be patient.. the video is a little bit hinky and takes time to load.

Possible News Today about the much anticipated "Gringotts" ride going in at Universal Studios Orlando, Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Diagon Alley.

This video showed up today on Screamscape. Posted on Youtube my Dynamic Attractions, this may or may not be the Gringotts ride. It's simply listed as "Mine Ride Coaster" but seems to share the same design ride cars from the Gringotts attraction. While this may not be the exactly design of the ride, it should give you some nice clues as to what may possibly be included!

You'll spot a lot of elements which are already in use at other attractions. Two drop sequences as well as a "tilt and switch" track element. Although no one can confirm is this really is Gringotts, it does seem possible since the ride has recently received it's coaster trains.

More information when we find it!

Banshee Watch - October 30

HAPPY HALLOWEEN PEOPLES!!!

Okay so I'm a day early but no big deal right? Especially since this is my favorite holiday and I've got a Halloween treat just for yinz (yes, I'm from Pittsburgh and yes I use Pittsburghese just deal with it).

Wait for it.........................................................THE LOOP IS COMPLETE!!!  King's Island Facebook has posted the picture of the complete loop which encircles the lift hill and it looks so amazing.

Photo: The loop interacting with the lift hill was topped off this morning on the new Banshee roller coaster.

I have an unrealistic hope that a car will be going up the hill as one passes overhead but that would put two cars too close together and we all know that would be a bad idea so my dream shall just remain a dream. (I feel like I should sing "I Dreamed a Dream, but we'd all go deaf).

I also found this gem hidden among the pictures and I honestly couldn't remember if I posted it or not but either way do we really care? Nope, we just want more photos.

I can not believe the scale of this ride and I love how it fills the whole area.  Imagine what it'll be like in a couple of years once all the trees and nature grow back in.

I am ending my update here today and I wish everyone a safe, scary, spooky and wondrous HAPPY HALLOWEEN.  Remember: Jack the Pumpkin King is watching you.

Honestly, I knew nothing of this attraction as it was one Kitsune had picked for a review. Before our visit I hadn't even heard of them before so I had no idea what to expect.

Although I admit, I'm rather disappointed they aren't running for the final Halloween weekend. It's a pretty good haunt which could easily attract people for Halloween and the final weekend of Oct/Nov. Sadly though they mad the choice to close early, so you'll have to remember this for the next Halloween season.

Fear Experience offers 4 haunted attractions located in Parma, Ohio. Hidden in once abandoned body of a big-box store, we found a fun and rather long haunted attraction. Each of the three haunts has a unique theme, while it's not amazing it's petty good and worth a visit.

We had planned to visit Ghoul Mansion much earlier during our Haunt Tour but plans kept falling through. It's really not much fun to try and review a haunted attraction when your sick!  Finally, things looked clear and we booked two hours north of our home to Sharon (or Scarin' PA) to visit this haunt.

In the past we've heard a few people talk about them but really had no idea what to expect.  We knew they offered six unique themes in two buildings but other then that, I was walking in blind.  From the outside you may not be impressed but once you step inside, it's another world of crazy shit.  You wait in line and get a small pre-show, form here you enter a foyer to get your picture taken and a surprise ending before you enter your first haunt.

Falcon's Fury- Drop Tower Pieces Arrive in Tampa

Image from Orlando Sentinel
The nine large pieces of the new "Falcon's Fury" drop tower attraction at Busch Gardens Tampa arrived. After a month long trans-Atlantic trip, the body of the tower arrived via semi-trucks to the park. Over two days the pieces moved from Port of Tampa to Busch Gardens.

Each section can weight up to 95 tons, the total weight of the tower pieces is 519 tons, stated Busch Gardens Tampa. Smaller parts of Falcons Fury have already arrived from several countries around Europe.

Falcon's Fury is set to open to the public in Spring of 2014.

The Bat Flies Again at Kings Island

Okay, maybe this isn't the original "Bat" roller coaster which was a very early prototype of the 'suspended-swinging' coaster.
However, it will breath new life into a fan favorite attraction- Flight Deck.

On this day, 33 years ago in 1980 the original "Bat" opened to the public. As you can see, it was a pretty amazing ride but being a 'new style' it was plagued with problems. The track wasn't angled enough and the mechanics that allowed the car to 'swing' wore out very quickly because of this. If you check out the video, you can see it was a wild ride! The Bat flew it's last run in 1983 when it was demolished.. currently Vortex sits in it's place, reusing the original ride building. If you look around carefully, you can still spot peices that 'The Bat' left behind in that area.

Flight Desk, Summer 2013
Finally dumping the steel gray look and the old left-overs from the paramount days, Kings Island is completely re-themeing Flight Desk with a new 'Orange, Two tones of Steel Gray and Black" color scheme and very likely, re-themed ride trains!

Not only does "The Bat" fit in with the new "dark" theme which the park seems to have going, it's going to mesh beautifully with it's new big sister, Banshee.

This is a perfect answer for an excellent coaster. Rather then seeing an already rare type of coaster disappear, the park is giving it a much needed infusion of life.  Yes, it's the same ride but it's also paying homage to it's ancestor and I can't think of a ride that deserves more love then Flight Deck!

...Okay and 'The Bat' had about the coolest logo around, both new and old!
